2013

The Half-Finished Heaven October 27 18:00, Sofia church

It’s time for the main event of the autumn for us in Sofia Vokalensemble! The concert will include an exciting world premiere and some pieces that the choir really loves. Welcome!

Until the Daybreak – concert 29 September at 18:00, Nacka church

Vi start the fall season with a guest appearance at Nacka church. We will perform a mixed repertoire with some our favorites pieces from past seasons.

Summer evening concert June 6, 20:00, Sofia church

The summer evening concert is one of our yearly traditions. This year we perform a repertoire which spans from J S Bach’s motet “Singet dem Herrn ein neues Lied” to S-D Sandström’s “Lobet dem Herrn”.

Concert during Sofia church’s organ festival April 21, 18:00, Sofia church

The Sofia Church arranges an organ festival to properly inaugurate the church’s renovated organ. We hold our own concert during the festival. We premiered the piece Anim Semiraus by the young Swedish composert Jacob Mühlrad.

Bach Mass in B minor March 17 18:00, Sofia church

We performed J.S Bach’s Mass in B minor together with baroque orchestra Tre Kronor and soloists in the Sofia church.

2012

Concert – Sofia Vokalensemble meets Anders Paulsson
Sofia church, Dec 9th

The second Sunday of Advent, we hold our annual Advent concert in Sofia church. Come and enjoy both traditional and contemporary Christmas music along with us and our guest artist soprano saxofonist Anders Paulsson!

Earlier this year Anders was awarded “Litteris et Artibus” from the hand of the Swedish king for his outstanding achievements as soprano saxofonist. He made an acclaimed guest appearance during our summer concert in June, and we’re very excited to be cooperating with him again.

Cantus Maris 

Cantus maris - Konsert med Sofia VokalensembleThe Sofia church is under renovation during 2012 so the choir holds concerts at other venues in Stockholm. Listen to parts of Sofia Vokalensemble’s competition program before European Grand Prix for Choral Singing. Swedish Radio will record the concert.

A Spotless Rose 

Sofia Vokalensemble’s own Christmas concert, where new and interesting music from the autumn program is mixed with traditional Christmas repertoire.

Eric Ericson Hall, Nov 24th
Sofia Vokalensemble meets Kammerkoret NOVA 

Sofia Vokalensemble shares an Advent concert with the Norwegian choir Kammerkoret NOVA. The Stockholm Music Gymnasium also participate in the concert, which takes place in the Eric Ericson Hall on Skeppsholmen in Stockholm.

Opening concert  – Choir Leader Congress in Falun

On 20-21 October we will go to Falun, where the choir has the great honor to perform at the opening concert of the Choir Leader Congress, arranged by FSK, the Swedish Association of Conductors. The congress includes workshops, seminars and concerts, and the participants are individuals who are active as choir leaders in Sweden. We are obviously very proud to have been selected for the opening concert and look forward to treat the congress participants to both contemporary music and repertoire that is dear to our hearts.

 

Uppsala Dome, Sep 11th
Concert 

We like doing concerts at new places and on September 11th we’ll will visit the choir city of Uppsala for a concert at the Dome. Our concert program includes Johannes Brahm’s romantic choir music as well as pieces from Nordic composers.

Sofia church, Sep 8th
Concert with Ad Hoc

We start the autumn season with a concert which we will share with the male quintet Ad Hoc (www.adhocensemble.se). It’ll be a musical meeting between Sofia Vokalensemble’s varma, rich choir sound and Ad hoc’s smooth renaissance music. The concert is done in cooperation with Stockholm-Fryshyset Rotary club foundation.

Den längsta resan (The longest journey)

On Sunday April 10 it is once again time for the annual spring concert of Sofia Vokalensemble. This year we bring you a mixed program consisting of music from our upcoming tour to Maribor, Slovenia – a trip we are very much looking forward to as we are competing in their International Choral Competition of 2011.

The concert mixes traditional swedish music with such composers as Gallus, Schnittke and Whitacre. We will also be performing one of our new favourite pieces: Den längsta Resan ( The Longest Journey) by composer Kjell Perder. Swedish Radio will be recording the concert with will later be broadcast in P2.
