Successful opening night of the Baltic Sea Festival!
Oedipus Rex / Symphony of Psalms at the Royal Swedish Opera tonight!
Tonight it’s finally time for the sold out opening performance of “Oedipus Rex / Symphony of Psalms” by Igor Stravinsky! The performance opens this year’s Baltic Sea Festival with Esa-Pekka Salonen as conductor and Peter Sellars as stage director. We share the stage with the Kungliga Hovkapellet, Orphei Drängar and the ladies of Gustaf Sjökvists Kammarkör. Sveriges Radio P2 will broadcast this live starting at 18:55 CET.

On June 8th we hold our traditional summer evening concert in Sofia church! The concert program includes the Swedish composer Ludvig Norman’s motet for double choir “Jordens Oro Viker”. We also performed the piece on May 24th at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm.

Our summer evening concert is approaching! We’re excited to premiere the piece “Exile” by the Swedish composer Johan Hugosson. We’ll also perform music by Rehnqvist, Jersild and Verdi. Welcome to Sofia church on June 8th, 19:30. Free admission!

Sofia Vokalensemble holding auditions
We in Sofia Vokalensemble are looking for experienced singers who want to join us in 2017. In March we’ll sing Frank Martin’s Mass for Double Choir and Chansons françaises by Francis Poulenc.
