Our contribution to the Busan Choral Festival & Competiion – Virtual Choir Festival was the piece Trilo in arrangement by our conductor Bengt Ollén. Trilo is a traditional melody from the west coast of Sweden said to be sung by fishermen’s wives when they finally caught a glimpse of the boats for away, carrying their loved ones back into safe harbour.
We’re going to Lithuania! A country with strong choral traditions and we look forward to performing at the festival Birštonas Cantat 2018 on May 17th, hold workshops and finally meet and make music together with composer Ola Gjeilo whose pieces we’ve performed many times during the past decade. On Saturday May 19th we’ll be on stage together singing his music in Vilnius. The concert goes under the name “Open to the World” and is arranged by the choir Bel Canto Choras who we had the great privilege meeting in Vilnius two years ago.
